Convert Formula to Value in Excel
If you want to turn a formula into a value, or convert many formulas to values in Excel, do the following steps.
1. Select a cell with a formula.
2. Press F2 to switch to editing mode.
3. By pressing F9, you can replace the formula with its calculated value.
Don’t forget to press Enter. To copy the result of a formula to another cell, use “Paste as Values.” Apply the following technique to efficiently convert multiple formulas into static values in Excel.
4. Select a range of cells containing formulas. Hover over the right border of the selection. A four-sided arrow appears.
5. Click and hold the right mouse button. Drag the box to the right.
6. Keep holding down the right mouse button. Drag the box back to its original position.
7. Release the right mouse button. From the pop-up menu, click Copy Here as Values Only.
Result:
Note: In cell D1, the value is 30. In cell D2, the value is 60. Both are entered as numbers, not formulas.
